Welcome to the Regulatory Services Test

Welcome to the Regulatory Services Test (RST) website. The RST is a thoroughly researched, fair and objective psychometric assessment of an individual’s suitability for regulatory services work. It is suitable for use in selecting and developing people for any role that has a significant regulatory component, e.g.:

  • Trading Standards
  • Environmental Health
  • Health and Safety
  • Food Standards
  • Building Control
  • Licensing
  • Regulatory work in the financial sector.

The RST has two parts. Firstly, there is a timed written comprehension test. Secondly, there is a behavioural preference component. Please allow up to 35 minutes to complete the entire test. It should be completed in an environment with as few interruptions and distractions as possible, ideally in one attempt.

Please be aware that if you are taking the RST as part of a selection process for a job, certain safeguards have been built into this on-line process. Firstly, with regard to the written comprehension test, you may be asked to undertake a similar test if you are shortlisted. Secondly, the personality profile contains a measure of how truthful you have been with your answers. Therefore, you are strongly advised to complete the RST yourself, on your own and as honestly as possible.
